Two decades of championing grassroots sport in India.
Dr. Piyush Jain founded the Physical Education Foundation of India with clear objectives of creating better opportunities in the physical education segment, developing a culture of physical activities and sports, and creating equal sporting opportunities at grassroot level — especially in rural areas and for children from economically weaker sections.
He serves as the Secretary of the organisation and is an alumnus of the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education, Gwalior, holding B.P.Ed and M.P.Ed degrees, and a doctorate from SRTM University, Nanded, Maharashtra. He is also the Managing Editor of the International Journal of Physical Education, Health & Sports Sciences.
Dr. Jain has contributed significantly to research and development in physical education. On a visit to China for the World Congress, his paper “Relevance of Leisure Sports for Promoting Health” was awarded the Outstanding Paper of the Congress. He has also been regularly invited to speak on Sports, Physical Education, and Health on All India Radio and Rajya Sabha TV.

Full aims & objectives- 01To advocate for the inclusion and strengthening of Physical Education as a core subject and professional domain across schools, teacher education, and policy frameworks, including recognition in administrative and governance systems.
- 02To uplift Physical Education professionals, sports coaches, and sports administrators through training, certification, capacity building, and leadership development.
- 03To contribute to sports and PE policymaking at the national and state levels by providing evidence-based inputs on governance, curriculum, talent development, and athlete welfare.
- 04To promote "Sports for All" and support mass health, wellness, fitness, and active living across India through community-based and school-based initiatives.
- 05To identify talent early and support more than 5,000 grassroots athletes through CSR-led sports programs, creating a large and diverse talent pool for future global sporting events.
- 06To support research, innovation, and evidence-based practice in sports science, sports medicine, nutrition, psychology, and performance analysis.
